I'm a London-based photographer with a degree in Philosophy from King's College London. In 2018 I took third place in the National Portrait Gallery's Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize, with a photograph from my project Londoners.
I'm broadly interested in images about city life. I'm inspired by a mix of studio and documentary photography: Irving Penn's Small Trades series and still-life images of detritus have influenced me as much as Michael Wolf and Bruce Davidson's subway photographs.
If you would like a print of an image at a size not listed, please get in touch by email or phone. Most of the images on my other website, www.maxbarstow.com, are also available as prints on request.
